Introduction

March 18, 2010

Hi! I am Sabrina. I just turned 22. I live in the small town of Coffman Cove. However, right now I am in Seattle for awhile, as I just had a baby early. So he has to be here in the hospital for awhile before we can go back home. I enjoy hunting and fishing, and spending time with my family. I also enjoy spending time on the computer. I am taking CITS220, because I love using the internet and all the different things it has to offer. I also enjoy trying out new websites, and being parts of social networks with friends. It is a good way to keep in touch and learn new things. While taking this class, I was particularly interested in learning about the tools that I have never used on the internet such as social bookmarking. As you can tell I currently have a WordPress Blog, although I hardly ever blog on it. I have previously taken classes on how to design webpages with DreamWeaver, and enjoy helping my fiance with web designing. I am an active member of facebook, twitter, and occasionally myspace.

UP, Awake, and nothing to do.

July 13, 2009

Well, I haven’t wrote a blog in a long time so I thought it was about time. Especially since, it it 5:56 AM and I have not slept a drop. Yeah, for some reason I couldnt sleep last night… Just one of those nights.
Anyways, Mike and I really havent been up to much other than us moving into my parents other house. Then after we moved in we had Christopher, my nephew come out and stay with us, and were still busy on college classes for the summer. So yeah… We’ve been pretty busy.
Then this coming week it looks like we may possibly go fishing which I am very excited about as its something I love… I wish that I had my own boat…. Haha thats really a wish. Oh yeah, and we ended up not getting the house we were looking at… Looks like we couldnt get it this time due to a lack of paperwork… How dumb.
Well, anyways that just a quick update I think I am going to look into putting up a photo page or something since I am up alone, and have nothing to do right now.

Mike is almost home:)

June 18, 2009

Today is my last day without Mike as he will be home tomorrow, which I am very excited about. I miss him very much. Anyways, we were talking about dates for a wedding last night. I think were either going for a date in November or December of 2010. It would be a good opportunity for the family to also spend a holiday with us.
Other than mike being gone though this week has been pretty good. I have just been very busy with my AmeriCorps stuff. I have been doing arts & some activities in the gym and whatnot. I think the kids are really liking it. Then tomorrow I will be doing a community clean-up here, and then heading off to pick up Mike.
Other than that I think I am going to be working on moving to my parents house they have down below theirs, because we found out we couldn’t get the house through first bank either becuase there are no papers saying that it is built up to Alaska Housing Standards. Yeah how retarded. I think these loan people are stupid! Anyways, so yeah were just going to move down there for now, but oh well I guess maybe thats for the better.

Engaged & Mike left

June 16, 2009

So, Last night while Sheffie was throwing up ham bone and we were cussing my mom for giving it him Mike proposed to me. Romantic eh? Well, that was kinda my fault, I begged for what he had bought me until he gave it to me. But no matter how he did it, I love the ring, and I am happy that he has finally made the step forward:)
So then this morning Mike left for Sitka. He made it there fine and everything, but I am going to be worried all week and on top of that be completely lonely. This is his first time traveling alone.
Well, thats about all that happened today besides us going to Craig. I was wanting to pick out some fireworks but we didnt get a chance to, so we will have to do it another day.
Well, anyways, off to bed the computer is dying, and I have no charger in the bedroom. Hope you all had a good Monday!

I’m going to be lonely for the week….

June 15, 2009

So, Mike is leaving in the morning for Sitka. I really wish I could go with him. I love Sitka, and I haven’t been there in awhile. However, I am stuck with working this week. So Mike is going to leave in the morning to go over to the ferry with my dad. Then he will be back on Friday night on the ferry. So until then I will be at home, lonely, with my mom but oh well. This trip to Sitka should open up more opportunities for Mike which is good.
So this week you will be seeing more blogs from me because I promised Mike a blog every day while he was gone.
I also wanted to post on here tonight that I found the picture of Mike, Bryce, Me, and Dick on Anchorage Daily News with Mike’s first Halibut. It was very interesting. I am guessing Bryce must have submitted it. You can view it at
I also ran across this old site of Sam’s that had our old Romania stuff on it… The journal from our group, and some photos and whatnot. I plan to do something with my Romania stuff, and my photos here in a few weeks. It is at I bought Ilife 09 and it sounds like it will have a lot of great options for designing a webpage with that stuff on it. So you can look forward to seeing that. Anyways, I think I am going to head off to bed. Hope you all had a great weekend, and a great week ahead of you. Oh yeah, and we also had two people die this past month in Coffman Cove. Very unusual. It’s kinda sad, as everyone here kinda seems like family because you know them so well.

House & Kids

May 26, 2009

So…. Don’t think your going to hear something to go running and spreading a rumor about, because well I’m not having a kid. At least not at this point in time. However, I am trying to buy a house here in Coffman Cove. It is a very nice 3 bedroom house, and I should hear back about it this week sometime to see if I get it, or if the bank will need more information and whatnot.
I am really hoping to be able to get the house. I would love to own one of my own, and be able to live on my own again. Not that I hate living with my parents, but just the simple fact that I am old enough that I believe I should be out on my own and fending for myself.
Then if I get the house I think Mike and I are going to try to bring one or two of his brothers up here to live or stay with us for awhile. I would love it as I love kids and I think it would be a great opportunity for not only us but also for his brothers. So anyways, we are thinking about that, and I think that even if we don’t get this house we may look into bringing one of them up.
Lastly, I just started my summer classes this last week. They seem to be going well so far. So hopefully I get good grades in them:) Well, anyways, better get off of here and do something more productive….. Like… Maybe facebook.

Anchorage AmeriCorps Training

April 24, 2009

Well, as most of you probably know this past week I have been in Anchorage for AmeriCorps training. The trip has been relatively good. I have really enjoyed it. Michael came with me which has been a great plus. I have been really enjoying the company at night, and whatnot.

Anyways, I first day started off with travel which went really good. Sheffield was a good dog. Which I was highly concerned about him, becuase well I really dont like traveling with the dog. It stresses me the hell out. Lol. Then Mike and I fight and well thats not good. But that didnt happen this time. Instead, I had forgottten I had a Nike plus thing in my shoe, and the security guys were back there really checking it out, and they were all concerned about my shoe having something in it. Anyways, finally mike is like you have that ipod thing in there. So, I asked them if that is what they were seeing and sure enough they took the thing out of my shoe. Then the stupid people had no damn clue what it was….. I couldnt believe they had never seen one. So yea that was a mess.

Then we arrived in Anchorage finally, where I have done a ton of training about energy conservation. Extremely boring things over and over again, but I do have to say that I have learned a lot, and I would like to share some of it with people back in our community or teach some of the kids at school about it. I think it is a great thing to teach people. Afterall, who doesnt want to save money. Also, while we have been here we have gotten to eat at Red Robbin which was fantastic as we both the love the place and havent been able to go there in awhile. Strawberry Lemonade…. Mmm. Anyways, back to the subject. Also, Mike lost his wallet the second day we were here by leaving it in a taxi when he went to buy us some pop. So he had to cancel out all his cards. However, lucky enough the taxi driver did bring back his wallet, which was great considering all the things mike carries in that thing.

Anyways, so now we are on our way home. Which I am extremely excited about being home. We have been sleeping in this room next to a a room with fighting people, and a screaming baby. Very lovely. lol. So yeah I will be happy to get some sleep.

Also, Mike’s birthday is tomorrow so we are going to be staying in Ketchikan and doing some stuff for his birthday. However, I am not completely sure yet. I will have to write again Saturday or Sunday and let you guys know how that went and what we did. I think we are going to be staying at my sisters house, which will be great for my sister. Sometimes I feel like our family needs to spend more time with her.

Well anyways, hope you all have a great weekend and I will update y’all soon on Mike and his birthday extravaganza.

The Difference between Guts & Balls

March 26, 2009

Guts or Balls? There is a medical distinction. We’ve all heard about
people having guts or balls, but do you really know the difference
between them? In an effort to keep you informed, and to alleviate
further confusion, the following definitions are listed below:

GUTS - Is arriving home late after a night out with the guys, being met
by your wife with a broom, and having the guts to ask: ‘Are you still
cleaning, or are you flying somewhere?’

BALLS - Is coming home late after a night out with the guys, smelling of
perfume and beer, lipstick on your collar, slapping your wife on the
butt and having the balls to say: ‘You’re next, Chubby.’

I hope this clears up any confusion on the definitions. Medically
speaking, there is no difference in the outcome, since both ultimately
result in death.
