americorps & babies

February 14, 2009

So, I haven’t wrote a blog in awhile and figured…. It was time for ya all an update.
I have been pretty busy working 3 or 4 jobs most of the time. I have been cleaning up our new school getting it ready to move into, subbing at school, subbing at the post office and doing the whole AmeriCorps thing. However, I have been having a lot of trouble getting enough hours for my AmeriCorps job. I am suppose to get 40 hours a week, but I have only been running about 35 hours on average. Which sucks. So if ya all have some ideas on some projects either enviromentally, community wise, or students wise then feel free to comment with some ideas for me. They would be greatly Appreciated.

Right now for AmeriCorps I have started an Archery program with the students and they seemed to really enjoy the first day. We are going to be doing this three days a week. Also, Mike & I have been working together to find out information on some recycling stuff that way we can start that up here in Coffman Cove maybe…. Eventually.

Hmm… What else has been going on in the life of Sabrina and Mike. Oh yeah. I really want a baby. There was a slight scare. But it appears that I am in fact not pregnant so that is good and bad both on the same note. I mean on the good news if I wanted to I could go celebrate my 21st birthday, but then again…. I dont get a baby. What I have been wanting. So its kinda a catch 22 deal either way…. It sucks, and is good. Oh yeah, and our friend george is having a baby… So it would be kinda kool for our kids to grow up together but oh well. It will all work out in due time.

I also looked at the americorps calendar today and it appears that I am going to be gone the week of Mikes birthday & his sisters wedding. So I think Mike is a little bummed about that, but theres really nothing I can do about it. It is in fact beyond my control. However, I feel bad.

I bought me a wii. I think I will love it. However, it still has not come in. Knowing my luck it will come in this coming week and then I will have to wait a week to play it becuase my dad will be home. But oh well.

I am also thinking about getting me a new macbook or maybe a macbook air. But am not sure yet. Also, would get a bigger Ipod right now I have an ipod touch 8 GB And I only have 3 GB of space left or maybe less dont know the exact amount….. So what do you guys think are the two things worth spending the money on?

Well, anyways, I think that is all for now or should be it was quiet a long blog. I will try to update my blog more often with updates and whatnot. Maybe I will try getting some of my famous jokes up to. Hope you all have a good weekend.

Home.

January 7, 2009

Here I am stuck in a world I hate and don’t want to be in. I can’t do anything without getting yelled at and I can’t do nothing to prevent getting yelled at. Whether it’s my fault or not I am the one to blame. Why? I don’t know.
It’s just the way things always are with my family. What was I thinking coming back here, instead of staying with friends that loved me. What was I thinking taking this AmeriCorps position that causes me to have to spend a whole other year here. Maybe it was the fact that I thought we were going to be able to move out of my parents house, or maybe it was the fact that I needed a job and something to do.
But now I am here stuck with someone who yells at me for every little thing that doesnt go his way, and I don’t know what to do about it besides get depressed about it. Oh well. I guess its life.
We’ll see what happens I guess. Maybe things will get better. Anyways, I do have a little bit of work to do before I get the Americorps position up and started. I am going to be working at the school on Thursday of this week, and it appears half of next week. Plus I start college classes this coming week which will be good hopefully that goes good anyways. As for last term I looked at my grades, and I am already doing relatively better than what I was doing at WOU with classes. So that is great. Anyways, hope the beginning of your guy’s year has caught you in a better situation than that of mine. With everything that has to do with life in general.

Ferry Trip

January 5, 2009

Well, My parents MIke and I are all on the ferry on our way home. I would love to say that I am completely excited about being home. However, that in fact is not the case. I mean don’t get me wrong I love being at home in Alaska with family and everyone, but theres the downfalls too. Like Mike not being happy there. No one my age living there, and etc. I guess I can live with that though.
Anyways, we should all be home Monday night. To what sounds like 5 or more feet of snow as long as it don’t warm up before we get there, which well would be completely disastrous end to this vacation as I hate driving on ice. Anyways, hope you all had a good new years filled with a lot of fun adventures. As for Mike and I’s relationship. Hopefully it works out, but for some reason I think he is going to end up leaving and going back to Oregon to live with George. Its just the vibe that I get.

Oregon & Weird Green Creepy Crawlies (Bugs)

October 14, 2008

Michael and I have finally come to the end of our week journey in the state of Oregon with our lovely pt cruiser and the nice best western. It was a relatively boring trip. As all we did was do some Christmas shopping, and see friends for momentarily short periods… Shells for like 5 minutes and Sasha for like an hour or so. Anyways, we plan on heading back down towards Oregon probably in December or so. Depends on families plans. We also got to eat at Denny’s, Dairy Queen, Yangs, Red Robbin, and of course Road House. All the places that we were dying to go. Also we got to go watch Sex Drive in the theatre a show Michael and I were wanting to watch it was a great funny movie! We also went and got coffee from Starbucks, which was nasty by the way and from Dutch Bros. Who has the best coffee on the face of the earth. Well maybe not that great but its good:) Anyways this is where the story of the Green Creepy Crawlie comes in apparently when we picked up coffee somehow this beautiful green creepy crawly thingy majiger. It was almost impossible to kill. I hit it several times and the creepy thing just kept crawling off anyways I think it was a green stink bug. Kinda disturbing if you ask me. Anyways, michael finally killed the stupid thing, well almost it quit crawling all over then we stopped at Taco Bell to get food and i noticed it was kicking its legs to i squished it in half and it was still kicking! So I squished it again, and well it finally quit. I wish I would have taken a picture of it. Well anyways all we got left of our trip is the final destination to home! Hopefully it goes good. I will update you and let you know.

Going South, and Fish!

October 7, 2008

Hey all;
Just thought that I would inform you that I am heading to Oregon for the week! I am very excited to be going. I will get to see some friends, and use my cell phone! If you want you can text me at 1-503-580-7717. Anyways, hope ya all are having a great week. I will update you on how the trip is going, oh and also. It looks like the law has passed for charter boat people to only get one fish, as I was informed by Big B’s Fishing Adventures who is also my boss. If you would like to help charter boat people fight this issue, for their sakes as well as charter boat customers. You can feel free to visit Charter Halibut Task Force this will show you how you can donate to their efforts. Also, GW Hosting will donate 5 dollars to this cause everytime someone signs up for an account through them for this month. So if you are interested in a place to host that site of yours, check out http://www.gwhosting.net for prices and packages.

Blog & Oregon Trip

October 3, 2008

So, Michael messed up my blog… Its finally back in the right spot. Minus a few of the blogs that I should have had on here. But not missing much from those basically mike and I went fishing with Bryce Brucker and Mike caught some great fish. About 80 lbs. You also probably missed the great news that I got a Mac, and Ipod touch. Which I recently installed the game Spore on. It is a great game, both me as a 20 year old and my nephews at 11 and 8 love the game. Just going to prove its a wonderful game for all ages. As of now, Mike and I are getting ready to head to Oregon on the 7th. After a long time looking for a car rental we finally found one in Seattle. It is E-Z Rent A Car so if you ever need a car and your underage this is the place to go. Mike is going to do a presentation to the school for the blind. Which should be relatively interesting. Then we are planning to go visit some friends, and stopping by at our favorite food spots: Red Robin, Yangs, Dairy Queen, lol You get the point. Well that is all for now, be on the lookout for new posts, themes and jokes.

~Random~

May 23, 2008

So.. I havent wrote a post in a long time and thought I would write a half way updated one. Well, I’m getting ready to possibly be going and watching a movie with Sasha at 3:05, Made of Honor , I am thinking that it should be relatively good… it sounds good. I will update later and let you guys now how it was. Last week I went and watched What Happens In Vegas I really like it. I thought it was relatively funny. It had everyone, in the packed theatre that we were in laughing. It was one of the best movies I have seen in a long time, but of course I havent went and watched movies in a long time… So that could be one reason.
Also, mike and I will have to be sharing a computer all weekend, becuase his macbook had the harddrive go out of it. He borrowed a computer from the school, but since Monday is a holiday he has to take it back tonight, and will be out of a computer until Tuesday. So that kinda sucks. Hopefully he will get his macbook back sometime soon.
Were also getting ready to head to Alaska in 23 days, I’m hoping Mike likes it… Since well I’m kinda dragging him up there to live. We arent sure if were going to take summer classes yet, we were going to take some throught WOU but he found out that since he dont have enough credits to be considered a Sophmore, becuase of taking a month off for Guide Dog training that he can not get financial aid for summer term. So… We dont know if we are going to take some through Distance Ed in Alaska, or what we will do about that.
Also, I thought I would just post a random thing that I found in my old emails. That I thought you all would enjoy, becuase well, I’m bored. Smile. And Im sure if you taking the time to read this boring blog you are to… lol.

A four-year-old child, whose next door neighbor was an elderly gentleman, who had recently lost his wife. Upon seeing the man cry, the little boy went into the old gentleman’s yard, climbed onto his lap, and just sat there.

When his mother asked him what he had said to the neighbor, the little boy just said, ‘Nothing, I just helped him cry.’

*********************************************************

Teacher Debbie Moon’s first graders were discussing a picture of a family One little boy in the picture had a different hair color than the other members. One of her students suggested that he was adopted.

A little girl said, ‘I know all about adoption, I was adopted..’

‘What does it mean to be adopted?’, asked another child.

‘It means’, said the girl, ‘that you grew in your mommy’s heart instead of her tummy!’

*********************************************

On my way home one day, I stopped to watch a Little League base ball game that was being played in a park near my home. As I sat down behind the bench on the first-base line, I asked one of the boys what the score was?

‘We’re behind 14 to nothing,’ he answered with a smile.

‘Really,’ I said. ‘I have to say you don’t look very discouraged.’

‘Discouraged?’, the boy asked with a puzzled look on his face….

‘Why should we be discouraged? We haven’t been up to bat yet.’

*********************************************

Whenever I’m disappointed with my spot in life, I stop and think about little Jamie Scott.

Jamie was trying out for a part in the school play. His mother told me that he’d set his heart on being in it, though she feared he would not be chosen.

On the day the parts were awarded, I went with her to collect him after school. Jamie rushed up to her, eyes shining with pride and excitement. ‘Guess what, Mom,’ he shouted, and then said those words that will remain a lesson to me…..’I've been chosen to clap and cheer.’

******************************************************

An eye witness account from New York City , on a cold day in December, some years ago: A little boy, about 10-years-old, was standing before a shoe store on the roadway, barefooted, peering through the window, and shivering with cold.

A lady approached the young boy and said, ‘My, but you’re in such deep thought staring in that window!’

‘I was asking God to give me a pair of shoes,’was the boy’s reply.
The lady took him by the hand, went into the store, and asked the clerk to get half a dozen pairs of socks for the boy. She then asked if he could give her a basin of water and a towel. He quickly brought them to her.

She took the little fellow to the back part of the store and,

removing her gloves, knelt down, washed his little feet, and dried them with the towel.

By this time, the clerk had returned with the socks. Placing a pair upon the boy’s feet, she purchased him a pair of shoes.

She tied up the remaining pairs of socks and gave them to him… She patted him on the head and said, ‘No doubt, you will be more comfortable now.’

As she turned to go, the astonished kid caught her by the hand, and looking up into her face, with tears in his eyes, asked her.

‘Are you God’s wife?’

Well Hope you all have a good day and weekend!

Just Thinking…..

May 19, 2008

So… its like 4 in the morning, and I haven’t slept…. Its just one of those nights, where you get caught up in thinking about random things and just can’t fall asleep. Im sure you have had one of those nights. Well, anyways, life sucks, guess I should just shut up.
I signed applied for attending UAA this fall, and well, hopefully everything falls into place but as of right now I have doubts that it is all going to work out. I for one am in doubt that I am going to be able to get financial aid so that sucks… Idk… I guess its life… Ill figure out how to pay for school, but I just dont know if Anchorage is really where I want to be… Well, I guess thats all to be figured out, maybe I will like it who knows.
Secondly, I dont know it just seems like im at one of those points in my life where, it seems like its going to be the same, over and over. Ii dont know kinda disappointing, but yet I love that.
Im hoping my parents like Mike and Kym. Well, expecially Mike. It seems as if they will… But you never know. And well, I guess more than that, I’ve been hoping that everything goes well with other people in town and them, and everything goes good with work this summer.
And even more than worrying about people liking them, I’ve been thinking about all the things I’ve done in the last year… That well… I kinda wish I wouldnt of. I mean in the last year, I’ve turned one of the best friends I had in highschool into an enemy, and it scares the shit outta me. For more reasons than one… I also well, just wish I had that friend back. Its one of those things where you dont realize who are your friends, until you screw it up… I guess, me and friends, has well, just went down hill this year, and it kinda sucks.
Well, anyways, enough for ranting about random things. I guess I will try and find something to do for the rest of the night… Maybe a myspace survey or something. Since thats all I’ve got to do these days.
